Dissonation is a Nashville based progressive/deathcore project that originated in late 2021. The band sprouted from the minds of Taylor Pace (guitar/vocals) & James Hunt (drums), later joined by Nic Townsend (guitar). They share an immense appreciation for progressive, rhythmically punishing metal bands like Meshuggah, the Contortionist, Knocked Loose, Sworn In, The Faceless, Car Bomb, Lorna Shore & other modern heavy acts. Thematically, Dissonation explores ideas of dystopia, mental anguish, & psychological corruption.
The band released their debut single 'Demon Eyes' on April 15th, 2022. Their sound features pounding drop tuned rhythms, whiplash inducing time changes, & harrowing dissonance. The track jerks the listener between spacious, crushing breakdowns, & fierce energetic passages. Any opportunity to mentally breathe is interrupted with an aural sledge hammer.
